Randy Nice Worship Team Leader
|
Randy was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in
1958 and quickly got a rocky start. He
began selling and consuming drugs at 13.
Randy was not brought up in a church going
family and had always experienced a
restless and empty feeling that drugs
seemed to fulfill, at first. He engaged in a
series of botched drug deals and suddenly
had the urge to leave town. Coincidently a
friend from Georgia was visiting at his
house that week. So with a little arm
twisting convinced him to go back to
Georgia with him. It was 1981and he had
his fill of Wisconsin and its local Police
Force, so Randy packed his bags and they
left in the middle of the night. Randys friend
from Georgia had been witnessing to him
all week and due to the circumstances
Randy found himself in, decided his proposition started to sound attractive. So he gave into some additional arm twisting and surrendered his
heart to the Lord while on the road. When they arrived in Georgia, Randy moved in with his friend and his wife. They were both musicians so they
somehow, ironically, got hooked up in a Christian Prison Ministry. That didn't last to long so they started a string of Christian Rock Bands over the
next five years or so.
They eventually went their separate ways and Randy got married to a lovely Christian Woman in 1986. Randy then started a business and
became consumed with success for the next 19 years and his drums took a back seat. Randy played in a non-denominational Church Worship
team most of that time. But Randy got bored with the traditional church brand of worship, and began to pray about something a little more radical.
Randy and his wife moved from metro Atlanta up to the mountains in Dahlonega, and searched for a new church family for the next year. But they
couldn't find a good fit, until reading the newspaper one day.
Randy read about Set Free Biker Tabernacle. Immediately, being of the biker persuasion, he knew this place had potential. So he threw a leg
over his Harley and went to check it out. Randy liked what he saw and heard. He is now committed to put together a great team of Christian
Musicians to play classic Rock and Roll with Christian lyrics.
We hope you come and join us.
